It seems to me I learn a small little something everyday. I have been using Photoshop since version 5.5. I had never imagined you could select SEVERAL layers, and make them into a SINGLE smart layer. That is very cool!

Very good as always and much appreciated! Yes please let us have more of these, including the more complex ones you mentioned. I for one can't get enough compositing related tutorials as this really is my absolute favourite PS activity. Maybe we could also have a really long one (the longer the better!!) based on your FULL workflow for photo restoration as well? I know you have shown this kind of thing in the LFL 'fix my photo' sessions but a separate one as a 'start to finish' kind of idea might prove rather useful too. Many thanks.

Awesome tutorial, as usual. I've come to rely heavily in LUTS and then play around with them locally -- but is there any way to preview or "audition" the LUTS as you scroll through them, like you can with presets in Lightroom and Camera Raw (and every other program I've used)? Clicking on each one individually adds so much time and effort! Any suggestions? Thank you again for all your great tutorials!

I’m a dog photographer and use this technique to edit out owners holding the leash, treats, etc. didn’t know about creating smart object and taking the image into camera raw. In fact must learn how to use smart objects.
