Many of the rioters were clearly religious. People need to understand that Orthodox law holds that Jews cannot be held responsible in any earthly court for crimes against non-Jews. They may eventually face some sort of divine justice but even this is a relative slap on the wrist. Simply put, the lives of non-Jews are not given much value at all. Only Jews truly matter. These kind of beliefs are especially emphasized in Religious Zionism. Simply put, this mentality is what Palestinians seeking justice-- and those supporting them-- are up against.
