In an alternate reality, Bond does not regenerate into a new form, he just gets old. He never wins nor loses Tracy and never dumps Blofeld down a chimney-stack. After the events of Diamonds Are Forever, he focuses on training new recruits, somehow never meeting Largo till the 80s, and retires after this one last mission. A young civil servant, inspired by the aging Bond, later trains to be a spy himself, and assumes the name of Johnny English...
