Absolutely loved that guy's "One Car" label/theory (I'll be stealing that) and calling out that car's lack of "sports" or "utility"

The drivers in Liverpool are truly excellent, observant and generous. The observe a learner car in the mirror and are then generous and creative about the learning points they choose to provide you to teach your students. You should appreciate them.

At around 9:00 for a moment I thought Ashley's accent had undergone a dramatic change until I realized it was the other gent speaking! Glad to see that Ashley got a word in edgeways... just! 😊

That vauxhall driver at 8:40 just got outskilled by a learner driver. Wonder how he feels about that.

I'm impressed by the multi tasking of reverse parking whilst extolling the virtues of Car Vertical.

last clip - buses do this all the time in London, it does my head in because when they are in traffic you cant tell if theyre indicating to come out (give way to buses) or just wasting your time!

I like that the creeping kept the little girl from crossing. Had it been a single lane I’m sure you would have let her cross but in this situation you also protected her from the car in the second lane.

The first clip of the sheer speed of the van down a narrow residential street with parked cars either side was truly shocking. Can't understand how anyone could feel comfortable at anywhere near that speed.

The way the guy talked about "one car" driver, mentioning moments of being under stress, i have had that once.
It was the day my dad died in 2016. He had cancer, got sent home and 5 days later was passing away. He was a builder and i was on site keeping the business going when got the phone call he needed to go back into hospital, but i knew it was something else.
He was also an advanced driving instructor when in the army, taught me to drive, taught me advanced driving too. 30mph in a 30 zone unless its not safe then slower, it was very difficult for me to keep that mindset, not get frustrated at the slow driver doing 18mph in the 30mph when it was safe to do 30mph. But i kept a safe distance, then on the motorway went above 70mph as traffic was low and flowing. Made sure to keep braking distances and plan well in advance. I got there to be by his side as he passed away, 5 minutes after i arrived.

Nowerdays i am calm and laugh at the folk that need to get that one car ahead as not reading the road, but i do understand that feeling of needing to rush to get somewhere because of something stressful. For some its a must, they just have to, they dont have the discipline to understand the bigger picture when to speed and not to speed if under stress and for something simple like being late for work. But others could be like i was and trying to get there to see a family member for the last time. You just dont know.

2:12, 2 lads I worked with had this, they stopped at traffic lights on a slight hill and the car in front slowly rolled crept back [inch by inch]until it came to rest touching their front bumper, [the handbrake was slipping and not holding the other car still on the hill] they were confused because the woman in the car was looking at them in the rear view mirror while were car was creeping back towards them,

She got out looked at the 2 cars touching bumper to bumper, then walked around to their window and angrily said “I suppose you think that’s that bloody funny, it’s a red light I can’t go anywhere!”
She was convinced that she was stationary the whole time and that they were the ones creeping up on her .

When they informed her that it was she who rolled back on them she was adamant she hadn’t and stormed off in a huff.

Last clip Hazards lights… that’s a really good point,
just as you say you can only see the right light so it looks like they are about to pull out.

much of the US has a system in place (Opticomm, for those interested in details) that allows emergency vehicles to give the road they are approaching in a green light, which allows traffic to clear for them.

13:19 what annoys me even more are the people who are perfectly legally parked on the side of the road on a parallel park, with cars in front and behind them, yet they still use their hazard lights. Looks to me like they're indicating to get out because all I see is the right indicators. Utterly pointless.

A good tip to note for some vehicles is that the indicator flash timing is different to the hazard light flash timing. At least on my Ford Focus, the time the lights are illuminated when the hazards are on is shorter than it is for indication. Say for example the indocator stays on for half a second and off for half a second for it's sequence, for the hazard lights it would be on for a third of a second and off for two thirds of a second. Have used this knowledge to help in situations like this a few times.

I'm all for reporting people on their phone. Reporting people which make mistakes whilst driving could be unfair because accidents do happen, no one is perfect. However no one has ever picked up their phone and started texting accidentally

Many years ago, I had an original Fiat Panda, clearly labelled '750' on the tailgate. 769cc and 34hp. I lost count of the number of people who challenged it to race away from the lights. Beat most of them, by anticipating the light changes. Didn't get far ahead before the inevitable scream past. 0-40, quite brisk, after that, gentle. Overtakes needed notice in writing.
The girl on the crossing at 13:00. The stop/start system can be useful in those situations. As the engine starts, it makes people pay attention.

Love how calm you are when you are instructing your students!! Telling them where they could do better and praising them when they get it right!

It's always worrying that so many people charge up to junctions and roundabouts without showing any sign of looking or slowing down.

5:10 _They're just the classic 'Can't sit behind a learner'._

As was the car behind. Soon changed their mind when they saw the obstruction in the outside lane, though!

Don't you know that hazards are very much like shields in Star Trek? "Shields up!" and you're pretty much immune to anything
