It's been an interesting few weeks since we've been allowed to start teaching again. In April's upload we see some unusual pavement use.

it’s funny how i’ve seen more accidents or near misses caused by people overtaking learners, or pressuring learners, rather than actually caused by learners themselves.

I always say, “Don't do anything you would not do in front of the police.” So, don't do anything that would have the police coming after you.

I love how relaxed and positive you are with your students Ashley - especially in the clip with the red Audi overtaking to turn left. They should put L-plates on unmarked police cars, that should do the trick 😂

"We deal with it don't we ? " parhaps one of the most relevant phrases to driving in this day and age.

On my night shifts I slow at green lights as it appears that traffic lights are just pretty colours at night.
Too often I've avoided the red light jumper and as I'm in a HGV I would do a lot of damage.

Beeping coming up to that bridge is absolutely amazing going to use this in the future 👍

I was shaking my head in total disbelief at some of these clips.
One or two expletives might have slipped out as well.
I don't usually "hate" on people - a pointless exercise - but there is one clip that particularly got to the pavement cyclist was far too close; especially the ones with the dog. That was ridiculous and could've ended in tears.
Stay safe everyone 👍

2.20 This situation is similar to something i experienced earlier this week, i was driving a Transit van and moved to the left to allow a double decker bus in the opposite direction to pass parked cars on his / her side, a person behind me drove round me and then met the bus.... I'm sure some people leave their brains on the bed side table when they go out for a drive. 🙄

I was on the way to a supermarket yesterday, & slotted in behind a Learner in a family member’s car after a minor error of judgement. Stayed a safe distance back, only one other minor error of judgement, (both lane choice on approach to roundabouts, 1st unnecessary but not wrong, 2nd, similar & correctly corrected safely.
They went to the same supermarket, so I had to comment, and compliment the good points of driving shown. Test this week, so, good luck to the learner, and keep those good habits

I like that you are teaching your learners not to let idiots on the road affect them. Really important to just quickly laugh it off and stay focused on what we are doing behind the wheel rather than rubberneck and get het up

Nice warning before the humpback bridge. Something many don’t do, I always do!

I've noticed a marked increase in impatience since we've come out of lockdown and instances of red light running, dodgy overtaking etc. I have to confess, I find it very hard to bite my lip sometimes.

just some info for you as someone that works in a bicycle shop. ebikes are capped at 15mph. if they assist above that then they are classed as mopeds and need to be treated as such, licence, lights, horn, insurance, etc unless being used on private property. that cyclist on the pavement is not only not meant to be on the road but i have a sneaky suspicion is also meant to be on private property as his bike is de-restricted.

I've commented plenty times on your videos Ash in a positive way, and I'm a conscientious driver. However I've found that more so now when I'm driving I either imagine you commenting in my ear... or tearing my dashcam footage apart. It makes me more patient...strange but hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks

These are great wee bits of dialogue, encouraging and keeping your learners right, Its good to be reminded that this is what is happening in a car with l plates, sit back and allow a bit of time troops.

I honestly do not understand how so many people have a driver's license... and are allowed to drive when they don't actually know how to drive safely and don't respect the rules of the road at all. It's shocking really. I mean driving is something not to be taken lightly. Lives are constantly at risk and some people just do not value safety or consideration at all. Your videos are great Ashley, thank you for all your insights. I'm not a driver yet, I'm hoping to be soon but before I do that I want to make sure that I understand the rules and the law as well as the safety of myself and others first. Your videos are really helpful and educational. Cheers mate, you're doing God's work.

Not been back home (Kirkby) for a few years now but I enjoy working out where you're driving with your students.
Enjoying the videos and even using some of your tips to reinforce my own driving. It's amazing how complacent we get after passing our tests and bad habits creep in.

I love that (I mean no offence) you seem quite intimidating, a man who could handle himself if he has to shall we say? But in all your videos your positive reinforcement is perfect. Wish my driving instructor back then was like you. Mine would just forget everything and go off on homophobic rants if he saw 2 men holding hands.

@Ashley Neal Hi there bud, regular viewer from Northern Ireland... Just with regards to riding on the pavement, are you sure about it being legal. Highway code Rule 64
You MUST NOT cycle on a pavement.Laws HA 1835 sect 72 & R(S)A sect 129.
Keep up the good work sir. Your teaching method is refreshing :-)
