okay here is the deal.
if you have op6, no need to upgrade. but if you don't have op6 and have to buy a new phone then op 6t is better. Larger memory, larger screen, bigger battery, smaller notch, gorilla glass 6, in display finger print sensor (which looks cool and unique though slightly slow). Headphone jack is omitted but I think most of us can bear with that. That's my take on it. I already ordered one after rationalizing all the parameters. (also I'm getting free type c headphones which makes the deal even sweeter). Hope it helps

This is the best overall fair review of the OnePlus 6T I have seen so thank you! I am about ready to move out of my older iPhone and OnePlus are likely to win here as they put together good phones overall - the new battery is a positive ... I will wait and see how the camera looks on the 6T. If it proves as good as the OnePlus 6 ... for this money it looks like the best purchase out there.

Moving from the Huawei Mate 9 to the OnePlus 6T... phone to arrive in a couple of days. Loved the Mate 9 but it's 2+ yrs old and it's time to upgrade. This will be my first OnePlus device so I'm excited to try it.

Here's why I won't buy the 6T:
1. No headphone jack
2. No IP rating
3. The in-screen fingerprint scanner is inferior to the regular one
I have been using Oneplus phones for years mainly because of the Oxygen OS. I hate to switch, but I have to. I may get the Huawei Mate 20 X; it has the jack and I may get used to the EMUI skin.

Just ordered the OnePlus 6, was able to get it much cheaper than the 6T. Not really a big upgrade, just smaller notch, bigger battery (12%) and the in-display fingerprint scanner (which is slower and less reliable than the normal one). And you lose the headphone jack. So i just went with the 6 and saved some money.

It's an awesome phone for someone who doesn't own the 6 in my opinion. I came from an old Motorola Nexus 6 and the 6t is a HUGE upgrade! My only gripe is the the single speaker. Everything else about the 6t is AMAZING to me!

Returning my 3XL for the 6T. The benefits of the 3 XL don't come anywhere close to justifying the difference in price. I will miss a few things about the XL... But, the design, look, and specs of the 6T, along with the value... Make it a no-brainer for me.

The lack of the headphone jack kills it for me. I actually solf my Essential PH-1 even though I really liked it just because I ended up not liking the lack of a headphone jack, and bought the OP6 instead, even though I don't like the size of the OP6 compared to the PH-1.

Probably the biggest contender for a new phone for me when I upgrade this December. Competing with Vivo Nex S and iPhone XR. Although the 6T price is hard to argue

Great review. I'm glad that you highlighted the issue with the funky looking background clouds with selfie portraits since it just might be a deal breaker for some. Do you think that this issue is due to the hardware of the front camera or could it be fixed with software updates?
