Anytime I tell someone I’m a revert they always ask was it cause of my husband. I didn’t even take the fact that my husband was Muslim seriously for the longest time. I just thought he said that cause he came from a Muslim community. Not until after I became Muslim I realized all of his values and convictions come from the fact he’s muslim. after reading the Quran and learning about Islam on my own I remember confronting him like “why didn’t you share this with me?!” He told me he didn’t want to push anything and trusted that God الله would guide me. I take Islam so seriously that it even shocked my husband. He even told me he figured I would accept Islam but never thought I would adopt hijab or wake up for Tahajjud so often. And it’s just crazy that ppl think I did this for him.

When you covert to Islam you do not have to distance yourself from friends and family as long as they respect you and accept the fact that you converted and don’t force you to do anything against the religion you convert to it’s fine!! And yes in Islam if you are thinking to convert it should be for Allah it shouldn’t be for the person converts are only accepted when it’s for Allah

As a Catholic my heart has recently been opened to Muslims. I’ve learned that we have much in common.
