"I lost the game" has become my friend group's unofficial greeting, when someone sees someone else who plays the game they yell it at them and then the other person gets mad. It's a ton of fun.

Here in Brazil when you lose the game you need to scream "I'VE LOST IT" without any context, and it doesn't matter where you are, neither the time it is. You NEED to scream

How to WIN the game: Tell your friend that u found a cool game to play called The Game, but lie about the rules and what it actually is. This way, if someone ever says something like "I just lost the game", they will assume that they were talking about the fake game u told them, ensuring they will never find out the truth of The Game, and thus will win

the third rule is where the nature of the game breaks down
the first two rules don't require a person to comply with the game to take effect, which is part of the meta that defines it
the third rule requires a conscious action, anyone who doesn't want to play can refuse to announce that they have lost, and there is no true punishment to those people, which means that it is not a true rule
i feel like this is important but i can't quite figure out why

Yes, you can win. STORY TIME:
Three days before my grandfather passed away my mom was at the hospital with him, she called me to let me catch up for a minute, knowing that this was probably the last time i would hear from him. When we got off the phone, he asked me if I wanted to speak with my mom. I didn't, this call wasn't about her and I, it was about him. I wanted her to get all the time she had left. We exchanged, I love you's and goodbyes and I assumed this would be last time I would speak to him so, tearfully, we ended the call.
30 seconds or so go by and my phone rings again.
[Incoming call from MOM]
I answer... "ughhhh, what do you want? Spend time with Papaw!"
*Papaw chuckles* "The Game....bitch" *giggles like a child and hangs up*
Those were his last words to and I can't even get him back now.
I love that asshole and that will forever be my fondest memory of him.
I've also concluded, that I inherited his win upon his passing and thus am no longer phased by the game because I get to tell that story and be reminded of that absolute fucking legend.

You could kill a baby that was just born. It had no chance of ever hearing from the game and will never hear from it. Therefore it definetelly won the game. Also you could find out when the game started, so everyone that died before that time wins. Btw the rules of the game are basicly: If you participate you loose. Everyone that knows about the game participates. A Question: Are there any consequences to breaking the rules, because the third rule says that you, or someone else have to anounce that you lost. What happens if only you know about that you know about the game, but don't say it?
