Hey guys! I have seen some comments about my point about knowing current events for the AP HuG exam, and I just want to clarify what I mean in my video! Personally, I find value in using current events to potentially apply to certain concepts that are part of the AP HuG curriculum. As a person who learns through examples, current events definitely helped me with understanding and connecting harder concepts to the bigger picture. However, knowing current events is just a supplement for learning, so definitely no pressure to study current events if you don't want to!! Good luck on your exams :)

1:53 From what my AP teacher has told me and my class (she has been teaching AP human geo for roughly ten years) the AP board uses current events from roughly 2 years ago from the day of the exam. I’m not sure if this is true but I’d recommend learning events from 2 years ago and early to prepare the exam. My AP teacher also recommends not using examples that are recent like using “Devious licks” as an example for contagious diffusion during an FRQ. Just a thought

Started Self studying today. Currently going through chapter 4 and I should be all the way done by tomorrow through content. Then i'm just going to grind practice tests and models to evaluate my flaws. Shooting for a 3 🙏🙏 Definitely reccoment ultimate review packet. The AP exam doesn't use any events that aren't 5 years old. If they do, it's a test question to see how everyone responds and to see if they will use it again the next year, but it WILL NOT count against your score. I would definitely focus on the material and not current events.

Tip: Go over the CED to know what you need to study. You don’t need to study every model and theory, for example, heartland and rimland theory aren’t on the CED, so it wont be on the AP exam
