During studies at a university I developed a strategy of learning difficult and sometimes boring stuff very fast - first you have to review your notes/books/whatever sources and then write down a recap of it - preferably structured into some key points or information, but you must not look into your notes. Then you review again and check what you didn't remember and do it again. After a round or two you are not only sure that you remember everything, but also have a very condensed mental map of the information. Also it works miracles to write down diagrams or even math formulas from memory to test yourself when learning for example physics, because it can contain a lot of information, which you don't even need to read after learning the visual/mathematical explanation

The only problem with this is that it is incredibly time consuming even after devoting 10 hrs to study everyday...way too many topics to do this for all of them

I've just purchased the "make it stick" book you recommended in this video. Thank you.

Okay I love this, but enough. Let's see you do it, show us an example. A real one, not some small, made up thing for use as an example. Learn something new, and while you do it, video yourself, talk to us, explain
your own thoughts and process.

“Force yourself to remember” is called ‘active recall’ and it is an effective component of learning as far as I know. Contrasted to just looking it up again, it strengthens your memory of the learned material.

Take notes. Make questions out of the notes. Then, quiz yourself.

I do all this. But sometimes your best just isn't good enough. Just found out I got a 50% in my first database concepts class test even though I 'thought' I understood what was going on. I came out of the test feeling confident now I feel like a loser lol.
