Not trying to knock on Tom Cruise's performance because he acted the hell out of the role, but Sam Reid as Lestat is brilliant casting. He really encapsulates Lestat's complexities, insecurities, cruelty, and unrelenting love for Louis. If anyone doubted him before, they need to watch the show.

Whoever decided to get Sam as Lestat is forever in my debt. He IS LESTAT. Brilliant performance thoroughly. As a long time fan of the entire Vampire Chronicles, i think Sam had done justice to Anne Rice's vision. It just makes me a bit sad she passed before the show was aired.

Sam Reed portrayal of Lestat it's like actually watching the character come out of the book the casting was off the chain him and Jacob their performance is incredible and Bailey as Claudia the casting of this show is really outstanding and the writing the twerks here and there makes it more enduring.

Lestat needed Louis a lot more than Louis needed him. He is very lonely and yearns for a "family", thus Louis and Claudia. He really needs to be loved. He's a very sad creature. I read the book in 1976 when it first came out and I've loved all of the Vampire Chronicles books. So excited for this series.
