Search effort underway for missing submarine carrying five people near Titanic wreck

A search and rescue effort is underway to find a tourist submarine that went missing in the north Atlantic while on a dive to the wreck of the Titanic.

The US Coast Guard said 'a small submarine with five persons onboard' had gone missing in the vicinity of the Titanic wreck and that the vessel had the capacity to be submerged for 96 hours. However it was unclear whether it was still underwater or had surfaced.

Everyone should look up what this 'submarine' they are in looks like. It's a metal tube without any windows except a tiny porthole in the 'toilet'. There are no seats, it's controlled by a super cheap videogame controller (not even an Xbox or Playstation controller, but some knockoff brand) and they just have to watch a screen (you can do that from the safety of land). The balast is just a bunch of metal pipes that roll out of their container when everyone leans to one side.

They paid $250, 000 to join the Titanic forever, very poor decision making on all sides.

David Pogue, who went on board, reported that he read a waiver that described the submersible as an "experimental" vessel, "that has not been approved or certified by any regulatory body, and could result in physical injury, disability, emotional trauma or death"

Going in a recreational submarine diving that deep, there are always risks. You win some, you lose some. The Titanic isn't a tourist destination for paying customers.

They died the moment they lost contact it seems . Probably imploded when contact was lost, as all the other fail safe procedures in places to bring the sub back to surface failed. No mayday or emergency calls/signal sent or receiced, because its more than likely imploded, which is why there has been no contact
