Wiring WIFI Cameras using PoE - PoE Switch & Splitter

Today, I'll show you how to wire up your WIFI cameras using ethernet cables and power them using a PoE switch and a PoE Splitter. I'll be using the Eufy E330 Professional and the Tapo Color PRO in this video using a Mokerlink PoE Switch and LinoVision PoE Splitter.

Thanks for the great video. I like the idea of using the POE switch to power up the cameras over Ethernet cables. My concern is with the splitter converting to the 12 VDC. Have you had any failures ending in camera damage?

I watch a lot of your videos thank you and, my apologies in advance, I ask a lot of questions because my comprehension isn't that of most so, I ask question to have better understanding. Question(s): so the Eufy only connects to wifi, right? that is what I understood. Is it possible if you connect Eufy 2k home base to an NVR and a POE switch does that add better security for the cameras? meaning cannot hack or, because the camera is still connected to wifi means it is still vulnerable?

@LHtoo I have a query, I hope you notice it please, since Tapo Color Pro is a wireless cam. Can it only turn on if you only plug the power cable to PoE splitter, without the rj45 port? Will the cam still power on with just power connection? And still the data/storage will be via ONVIF. Please clarify po, thank you🙂🙏🏻

Hey! I really like your channel, thanks for all the detailed reviews that you do. I recently bought the Reolink RLN8-410 to connect two DUO 2 WIFI cams, two RLC-510A POE cams and the Video Doorbell WIFI edition. I wanted to ask if i can use the Linovision POE splitter to power the WIFI doorbell? A second question, I purchased a YuanLey 5 Port PoE Extender Gigabit passthrough POE repeater. I am powering both RLC-510A cams with it and also passing data to a DUO 2 WIFI cam. I plan on connecting the Video doorbell to it as well just for data. The repeater is connected to the NVR via CAT6 cable and then I have another DUO 2 WIFI connected to another port on the NVR just for data. Is this optimal or do you recommend a small POE switch instead of the YuanLey POE extender or a POE injector next to the extender to provide power? I also have an 8 port 2.5G POE switch in my server rack that I connected the extender, the standalone DUO 2 cam and the NVR to it. The switch uplinks to my router but also has my desktop pc, NAS, an AP, etc connected to it. I appreciate any feedback you can provide to make my setup optimal and secure. I don't use rich notifications and want the simplest setup with minimal impact to my other network devices. Thanks'!

Great video content Lifehackster. Question, I know the e330 pro is wifi. Can I have a poe switch still connected via ethernet and just pair the camera via wifi during setup, or would I need a dedicated poe switch not hard wired to the network?

I have a 5V splitter. I’m guessing my splitter wouldn’t work with the cameras you have here (9V and 12V cameras)
Are there different choices of splitters that have different voltages?
