The Legend of Link... No, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

The kingdom of Hyrule was originally at peace until an evil wizard named Agahnim shattered the peace by killing the king of Hyrule and overthrowing him as ruler. He then kidnapped the maidens, descendants of the Seven Wise Men, and made them disappear one by one in order to break the seal the Wise Men made in the past to prevent evil from attacking Hyrule.

Zelda, the princess of Hyrule and the last remaining maiden, calls to Link (who is not Zelda) telepathically and asks him for help. After being rescued, Zelda tasks Link to find the Master Sword, the only weapon that can defeat Agahnim, while she hides in the secret sanctuary with the priest.

However, after Link got the Master Sword, the soldiers (brainwashed by Agahnim) found Zelda in the sanctuary and kidnapped her back to the castle. Agahnim then makes Zelda disappear, causing the seal of the Seven Wise Men to finally be broken. After having a duel with Link, Agahnim sends the hero to the Dark World, where the seven maidens are sent away to. Now, Link is on a journey to save the maidens and stop Agahnim.
