It’s terrifying to think that human remains from that day still haven’t been found

Makes me wonder what other debris from 9/11 is still unfound as it is hidden between buildings.

In 2018, a farmer in Scotland found a part from a Boeing 747 on his land. It came from Pan Am's "Clipper Maid of the Seas", the 747 which was blown apart by a terrorist bomb over Lockerbie Scotland in 1988. That piece of wreckage had been there for 30 years!

I've been in commercial aviation for 37 years AA, aircraft maintenance. That is NOT part of the landing gear. It IS part of the wing flap assembly.

Has anyone ever did a scuba dive of the New York harbor afterwards? I bet you'd find some remnants down there too

Rope is always attached to the backup actuator. This is common and customary for all domestic FAA regulated flights in the post Flintstone era of flight.

And yet this was recommended 11 years later

If you watch videos of the South Tower strike that were taken from the east, you can see a huge chunk(s) of flaming debris go flying far past the building with the oxidized (green) copper roof bordering the park. Which puts them in the area of discovery.

Yeah it's kinda messed up that they wanted to build that right there. Terrible location

It was very clearly part of the United 175 plane (plane 2) that struck WTC2, the south tower. The debris is in perfect alignment with the direction the plane was flying when it struck the building, which was at a slight non-perpendicular angle. The inertia of the debris, post impact, as seen on camera footage, took it a few blocks away. Crazy that no one found it for 11 years.

how ironic they found it whilst building an Islamic community centre. you couldn't make it up.

Boeing confirmed it was a piece of 767 found blocks from Ground Zero WAS part of the wing flap from 9/11 plane.

This has probably been stated already but if you watch the second plane hit the south tower, you can see two objects that went through the building and came out the other side in smoke & flames. Some rudimentary geometry shows that this was likely one of the two objects, the other being a part of the jet engine found on a sidewalk nearby. Both of these parts were probably from the right wing, which didn't impact the building's core but instead skipped along one of the concrete floors as the plane broke up.

unless its a black box it may as well be a stapler

Found by surveying for an Islamic community center. Oh the irony.

The reason why some human remains have not been found is because there is nothing to find.
Some people got vaporized from the plane impacts, jumping, and the collapse of the buildings.

I remember hearing this story back then. I remember being amazed that it was found and in such a tight space too. I thought the whole area around the impact zone for so many miles would have been investigated for all remains? Sadly human remains too..I've read 911 families were upset over the find. Such a find in an odd place..

the rope clearly says 'Boeing' on it.

it's ironic that it was an Islamic center being planned and they found that.
