"I absolutely would"

- Everyone who saw those commercials

As someone with a 3d printer, I can confirm, downloading and printing everything you can at first opportunity without guilt is very real. Long live open source.

The biggest joke is thinking Australia's download speed could manage this

"Turns out, given the chance, yes, I would download a car. At the first opportunity."
This. This, is comedy. Take notes, posers.

“Piracy’s bad!

…also you can’t buy blu-rays of tons of shows or buy them digitally, good luck when they’re taken off Netflix.”

What's even funnier is that it was rumoured that the anti-piracy ad that says "You wouldn't steal a car" actually used copyrighted music from The Prodigy without crediting them.
(Edit: so it seems that it wasn't the OG "You wouldn't steal a car" advertisement but a different one from another country.)

As a game developer, this is the exact reason why I'm not in the least bit concerned about piracy. As Gabe Newell once said, piracy is an accessibility issue.

Yes I would. I would download everything if I could.

Elon Musk after watching this: "Write that down! Write that down!"

The whole "you wouldn't download <item>" thing was always hilarious to me, because the majority of people respond with "yes I absolutely would."
Framing it like that only makes it _harder_ to argue that piracy is wrong. Materials, manufacturing, and distribution don't make up the full cost of creating a product, but framing the issue around physical objects puts the focus on those three things, none of which apply to digital material.

I'd just like to point out that I bought a movie on dvd the other day: Not only was the movie garbage, but the quality, being dvd, was awful, and it had like seriously 7 ads in front of it, and it worked hard to make it as difficult to skip them as possible.
I could have downloaded the bloody thing in bluray quality and skipped all the crap in ten minutes. If companies want us to stop pirating, they're going to have to make sure that the experience of buying it legit is _at least_ as good as pirating it, not _worse._ I have two options right now: spend my hard earned money on a crappy version that bombards me with ads, or _create one of potentially infinite copies_ of a _superior quality version._ Oh and by the way, _the pirated version isn't made out of plastic and wasn't produced in a factory and then shipped across the globe._ But I guess with that last part I could always just buy it digitally: _If I could figure out which of the fucking kajillion streaming services are offering it right now_

“You wouldn’t download a car, would you?”
I mean, if it’s possible, I absolutely would.

"completely made of plastic" that's only about 10% more plastic than most cars now

“That’s actually quite a good argument for online piracy..” That’s honestly the best argument ive heard about everything in at least a decade.

"I wasn't gonna buy it anyway so they don't lose money" this is the best arguement with 0 flaws

You guys should do a video called "Fairbairn Films fans rushing to write a comment about Darcy's acting as an object after a video is uploaded". Just a working title, might need a few tweaks

It amazes me that nobody seems to have brought up the Czinger 21C, which is an actual 3D-printed car that exists. So yes, you can actually download a car, and fast one at that
(edit: yes I know it's still a concept and yes it takes an entire robot warehouse to put it together)
