No matter how many new versions come out with "better" graphics, all the attention to detail in the PS2 version just can't be beat.

2. Xbox (other than the orange sky, this is a very faithful port).
3. PC (with PS2 restoration mods it's number 1).
4. PS3 (remaster got a few more patches than the 360 remaster).
5. Xbox 360 (has more bugs than the PS3 version).
6. Vita (unofficial port so it's unstable but brings a lot of the PS2 features).
7. Android (I believe it is unplayable these days due to a recent update, at least Vice City is right now but regardless, it's just an inferior port of the 360 remaster).
8. The Defective Edition on PC/PS5/PS4/XBONE/XS/Switch (not much needs to be said, we all already know, it's a pick your poison situation).

No joke, I play the Android version and its overall clarity/gameplay is incredible. Started playing it on PS2 tho when it came out. Best game ever, in the best game series ever!

The best are the PS2 version and first PC release! No matter how the PS2 version today looks, in your memories it will for ever remain as a 4k-graphics game <3 No other version can beat the experience you made, playing this masterpiece as a teenager day by day after school and explore this world full of details. Good memories...after you beat it on PS2 you made another great experience on PC and after all you tried several mods. The best thing was the package of the PC version, which was delivered in a stylish card board box and a hardcover book travel guide which contained the holy grail of video games! Rockstar took so much work in details even outside the game! I love it!

PS2 version bro, because that version is more legendary, more memorable and very nostalgic bro, besides the PS2 version, I chose the PC version, hehe.. 👍

PS2 runs at 640x448i, PAL runs at 640x512i, and Android is 1080p, but horizontal resolution varies depending on aspect ratio, eg:
(4:3 = 1440x1080) or (16:9 = 1920x1080p)

I really like the "old" version gta sa especially in draw distance the "new" version of draw distance making the gta map looking so small

for vanilla ps2, for modding pc. Infact original pc version is the best choice if you want to play this game again. The things you can do with mods is ground breaking.

I'm so glad I brought the gta trilogy on ps4 before the definitive edition game out. I can now play the original games on my ps4 and now ps5, since I'm pretty sure the original ps4 version (not the definitive edition) was just the ps2 code running in an emulator.
