This version is so much DEEPER. The way John wanted it. But even the pop version the Beatles arranged is amazing as well. That’s how you know it was truly great songwriting, when the song can be a classic in any style

Paul did a version like this in a concert in Liverpool in 1990. Obviously he was influenced by this and remembered it.

It sounds a bit like "Isolation" or "God". That's probably what he wanted it to be like. Soulful and sad, as he felt when he wrote it in 1965.

That's so weird to me that he keeps going to the wrong chords. This song doesn't have any weird chord changes. And at the end when he can't hear what that next chord is. He played the song quite a lot of times ten years earlier and he himself wrote it. And yes, he played it on guitar but B minor is still B minor (which was the next chord he was looking for) whether you're on guitar or piano. This just surprises me as a musician that another musician can't hear an A to a B minor. Especially him!
