Any formula to now show these in ranks in next page/ as report, by department wise. i.e. I need to show who is 1st, 2nd, 3rd in Dept 1, etc..

Fantastic tutorial…thank you…however I have a query, example two guys end up having same ranking? It may happen…in that situation I want excel to evaluate other parameter associated with candidate/employee… example two employees having same rank…but employee A is relatively new in organisation but employee B is quiet old and experienced…I want to give advantage to new employee…we can have another column capturing tenure in days for each employee…hope I am able to convey my query…please help.

Nice, like it but i was looking to rank on multiple columns at the same time. So we rank by column 1 first but then we rank in column1 by the values in column 2 if the values in column 1 are equal. And extend this to 3 columns?

If the sales is 0 for 3-4 city it will show repeated rank, how make it unique ranking using this formula

Is there a way to rank a 2 phase result? So let's say in Phase 1 you did not qualify to move to Phase 2, you will rank lower. So if Phase 2 Qualifiers ranked 1-9, then those who were "stuck" at Phase 1, will then rank 10-12. In a scenario where there are 12 participants

If i have two or more ranges, mark, grade to rank,
For example,
Masud: grade-5, mark-80
Rana: grade-5, mark-88
Robi: grade-5, mark-70
Lina: grade-4.90, mark- 90

I want, it 1st rank by grade, if there same grade got more then 1 student, that case it will rank by mark...

Countifs will FAIL when you have duplicate sales in a same dept.
Example:
Dept1 || 5 ||
Dept1 || 7 ||
Dept1 || 5 ||

we should pray to God that we must never come across with same values otherwise we have to pay for it ....i do not like these formulas at all ...the second formula gives different ranks to the same values which is totally wrong ...result ...the best i think the result that i want is that it should not give different ranks to the same values rather it should give the same ranks and the next number should not missing at all ...for example if first two values are same and the third one is different it should give same rank that is one to the same values and the third rank should not be three it should be two ...that is what i need
if you know any formulas then let me know
