In this video we answer one of our most asked questions: "How much did it cost to convert your Sprinter van into an off-grid camper van?"

Almost two years ago, Wade and I decided to chase our dream to travel around Australia and bought an used 2017 Mercedes Sprinter LWB Van that we converted into our tiny home on wheels. By doing it ourselves, we were able to personalize our build so that it meets all of our needs and wants. We couldn't be happier with how it turned out!

We made this quick video to show you all the costs included in our van conversion into a camper. We wish we had watched a video similar to this before embarking on building our own home on wheels.

After watching this video, you'll know exactly how much each appliance or material cost us to install in our home. We wanted to be as transparent with you as possible, so we take the time to break down every cost included in our build.

Some of the items mentioned in this video and used to convert our van into a tiny home:

Congratulations. Love the layout and large toilet/shower. Really good inspiration.

I think for 66K you have done amazing job ... would be worth at least $80K now with the low mileage, the van was a steal, the layout is good as well

We are from Melbourne and bought a ford transit. I kept all our receipts with every intention of adding up everything. Somehow I stopped collecting them because my husband went to Bunnings maybe twice a day when he was working on the van and the invoices just got lost all over. Two years ago, during the lockdowns he redid the entire bedroom section and we didn’t even collect any receipts. We have a huge double door fridge, microwave, oven, induction stove, permanent bed, permanent dinette, hot water system the lot. Two weeks ago, 7 years after the first conversion and we have moved house, I found the box with all the receipts. I just chucked everything. Conclusion: whatever we spent was worth every cent. The other day he said “perhaps I should redo the kitchen” I said no way 😂

Maybe the prices are higher in Australia but in Germany you could have an already built new van for the same price
