I still can’t believe the polar express didn’t just go flying off the rails or derailing while going down and up those steep hills!
But hey that’s what made me love this scene so much because it was like a roller coaster!

Everyone's talking about how fun this roller coaster scene is. But this actually was the scariest part of the movie. Since the steep downhill can be fatal irl.

Edit: Also, who on earth decided to spend more money on building a second track hill instead of just making it go straight? This is a railroad, not a roller coaster.

I've always found it odd how the ice can hold a 440 thousand pound train... but a small pin is what cracks the ice

A 179 degree drop would literally mean folding directly under yourself.. jeez

A 179 degree grade means that the train will go completely upside down minus 1 degree, and go almost in the opposite direction. The sign should have said “Danger -89° grade”

Using my general knowledge of physics, I can calculate that the speed of the train at 1:15 is 193.8 mph faster than the speed of the train at 1:06.
