14 Things Resident Evil 4 Remake Doesn't Tell You

Resident Evil 4 Remake is out now and it's got a lot going on. On more than a few occasions, it can be quite a challenging experience. Don't worry though, because we've got you covered- here, we'll be going over a few tips and tricks that you should keep in mind while playing the game to make the experience a bit smoother for you.

DO NOT trade your spinels for yellow herbs. You get enough for max health by the end of the first playthrough. Even while missing a few.

Leon's starting pistol is actually super good with the exclusive upgrade. Crits do bonus damage, even to bosses and elites that have a 0% chance of their head randomly exploding.

Another good tip is when you first arrive at the castle and the Broken Butterfly is available, if you have enough to purchase it then the merchant will give you the magnum ammo crafting specs for free.

Fun fact : Ramon is allergic to eggs so, if you throw a golden egg at him it removes 70% of his health and stun him.

You can absolutely buy the Red9. It’s later on if you don’t pick it up on the boat but it definitely shows up on the store. Believe me, I know because I didn’t get it my first time through and was waiting for it to appear there and it absolutely goes.

Get the bolt Thrower. It doesn't scare off birds when shot. It also kills the fast crawling plagas with just one shot

In the og re4 game, I'd use the special weapons on bosses later on in the game. Helped me out.

Be aware that enemies will teleport around the map to put you at a disadvantage. It happens a lot with the chainsaw guy at the start, and random villagers can spawn out of barrels sometimes when you break them. Enemies will also grab you when you turn you back to them when they are far away.

Looking at the map, ain't it suppose to turn Blue when there's nothing left to loot in an area? Mine is permanently red... o.O

At 5:30, also, don't forget to be at certain distance from your target if you want to do prompt attacks. You only have a short time to do this.

If you get all the collectibles you get the infinite knife as well (Similar to the one you get in RE 2 remake it has infinite uses)

I was tempted to do my first playthtough on hard but heard upgrades are more expensive and money is lower.

With the amount of weapons available. Makes most sense to play on normal first

You CAN purchase the Red 9 from the Merchant. I know this, because I myself bought the Red 9 from him, and when I went to the boat in the middle of the lake, it wasn't there. The chest it's normally in simply had a gold bar in it.

Its always the red 9, punisher, and silver ghost. Punisher is actually a good gun in its own way when fitted with a laser scope and the penetrative power makes it bypass shields and lined up mobs. Making it a good ammo conserving gun (i think the exclusive upgrade is unneeded for punisher so it saves us more currency)

RE4 is special for me. For RE2 and RE3, I played the remake as first, but for RE4, I finished the game several times with the original one, and waited for the remake even before it was announced.
