Shock Waves on an E195 wing

During a transonic descent I finally catched a glimpse of the aerodynamic effect created by light refraction and distortion on the upper surface of the wing. The shock waves are dancing with the supersonic flow.

That's fast for an E195, though the shockwave is close to the front of the plane which suggests that the plane didn't exceed its critical Mach number by all that much unlike larger planes.
