This video was so helpful. I was pretty set on applying to NYU ED- this confirmed that it's probably a good move. Thank you!

The channel is very useful. It's opened eye for us, who are Vietnamese and preparing for US admission. We recommend to all people. Thank you and wish you all the best!

This just made me so extremely anxious about not applying ED anywhere… like I want to be able to compare financial package but what if I don’t get into any of the schools I really want to because I applied EA and RD

But I’ve been heard/read that the ED1 numbers aren’t exactly accurate because colleges use a lot of their early spots for athletes and legacies.

I think the ED numbers are completely skewed not only by legacies and athletes but also targeted URM, low income and 1st generation students. A lot of Top schools will do Flyover programs so if those kids apply, they will probably get accepted.

Bottom line: If you are a normal student without a hook (athlete, legacy, . URM, low income), your chances are probably almost identical between ED and RD - maybe a couple of % higher - not 20-30%

My parents told me I can't go ED and had to apply REA, this makes me sad to see that if I could have chosen an ED school like Brown I actually would have had a better chance

Dartmouth counts athletes in ED too so it’s really 10 percent.

Thanks, Brooke for the informative video, but that leads me to ask is EA not as effective compared to ED?

how does REA stack up like with Princeton and Harvard?

Brooke, I remember that you did a video referencing applying ED to the Ivies may not be a good strategy if you are not a legacy as they are advised to apply ED and that could be a big pool of applicants. Does the ED% account for all of the legacies, i.e. Yale’s ED Pool%. Thank you and love your informational videos!!

Brook, for schools like uChicago, is ED1 significantly more beneficial than ED2? Thanks!

Is it a good idea to apply for one of HYPS in an early admission round with a super high score of SAT and just a moderate-high GPA?

I want to go to one of these top schools! I have gotten almost all A’s with A-‘s and B+, B, and B-. Sophomore year tanked my gpa as I got the B-grades. Other than that I have gotten straight A’s. I have been taken Honors/AP and have great EC’s.
Where is it best to ED to have a decent shot of getting in.

Nyu rate is so high also beacause they have 2 early decision right?

Hey Brooke, do you think applying to Duke early decision is a good idea if I am a first generation international student since Duke seems really into demonstrated interest?
Also, thanks a lot for the video!

is that early decision for firt year students?

Hey Brooke, I plan on applying ED to either UPenn or Dartmouth and I’m conflicted I love both schools but UPenn is closer to home (but it also has a lower acceptance rate for ED applicants and tends to prioritize student athletes in the ED round) any advice

I remember you saying in one of your previous videos that ND wants to see a test score. I was thinking if you wanna go to ND and don’t have a test score your only real option is REA, correct? Also you referred to ND as having ED but they have REA I was just a little confused I am assuming that all their stats were for REA
