I have a dip that varies between a 1/4" and a 1/2" of inch in the center of my roof between the ridge and the eave over a run of 15', which runs consistently from gable to gable can I use shims under the roofing clips?. I intend to use 26 gauge 16" wide panels. Thanks

i have a standing seam roof. just got a quote to have solar panels installed on the roof. they said they use clamps to install the panels to avoid drilling into the roof. how do you feel about these clamps?

I will be putting a standing seam metal roof on my 1500 sf home. We got through Ida without any leaks on a 29 yr old 3 tab shingled roof. There are trees surrounding our property almost 360 degrees. When I saw how well metal roofs held up during the hurricane, I decided to go with a metal roof. I found a roofer out of Texas and he has told me that no ridge vents for the attic space are necessary in a standing seam metal roof. It does not sound correct to me so I want to ask other professionals what they recommend. Does a standing seam metal roof need ridge vents or can the metal roof be installed without them? And what about moisture in the attic space? I have a hip roof and a couple valleys from a 6 foot offset in the house.

Just out of curiosity, why use the cap nails? I’ve seen metal roofs installed with them and the cap actually dents the metal

I'm a roofer have been eleven years and I started off doing Firestone black rubber and t.p.o ...flat roofing and metal crew alot ...in the heat and the cold .and spent time on a shingle crew ...I see cap nails in the gutter ...I like a clean jobsite and safety 🦺 ...and busting ass doing thangs rite ...anyone have any good stories the best times of my life's been on huge flat roofs everywhere all over Virginia ....

I was hoping to see a close up of the flashing derails, also anyone looking to have a metal roof installed make sure you invest in a hidden fastener metal roof, exposed fastener roof requires that the screws need replaced 15-20 yrs later and who wants to deal with that.
