The 2019 has some added features, but I like the 2017/2018 better. I just like the sporty look and upswept front end. I don't want an SUV that looks like a truck.

I took delivery of my 2019 XSE mid May. Since actual models to look at on dealer lots were rare I educated myself using Jeff’s multiple YouTube videos (26) on RAV4s. They were a great help in making decisions on model and packages, colors, etc. Couldn’t have done it without him or would have made decisions I would have later regretted. Thanks Jeff, well done! Ending up with second choice of color was the only compromise I had to make to achieve delivery within 30 days of actual purchase. Supply is improving.

Just bought a 2017 RAV4 LE last week, so, of course, the 2017!

As an owner of a 2017 SE, I prefer the 2018. The 2019 is too busy looking in my opinion, too
Many angles. Also, the plastic trim around the 2019’s fenders not going all the way around sets off my OCD.

I have rav4 2017. It looks more like a car while the new one has  more truck/SUV look.  Depends on the taste. I did a test drive of the new Rav4 and in my opinion the old model is a lit bit better for driving in town.

As to the exterior I definitely like the 2017/2018 way better than the 2019.

The wheels are nicer on the 2017/2018. But I prefer the 2019 inside & out.

Notice how the 2017/18 still has a CD PLAYER!
Believe it or not people still like to have CD Players.
There are a LOT of People like me that enjoy OWNING physical copies of media like DVD/CD's.

The new 2019 RAV4 has way better mpg (fuel efficiency), but the engine is much louder on hard acceleration. I'd get the older and quieter RAV4 instead.

The transmission in the the 2017 is more reliable, in fact it’s probably one of the best Toyota ever made, it’s still very early but the older RAV4 is looking to be more reliable than the newer models, you start adding additional gears in transmissions and it opens it up to problems, as other auto makers have been learning with their pickup trucks and SUV’s, but off topic, idk what the heck Nissan has been doing, they are a hot mess right now and those CVT transmissions might as well be powered by a hamster wheel.

had the 2016 se, now have a 2021 limited- the '16 drove much more like a sedan, first impression the '21 felt heavier and sturdier (more real-suv-like in a sense) but the engine/cabin noise is on the noisy side. '21 doesn't rev up and down all the time and has more power behind its higher revs but the transmission is also frequently jerky. personally think the new hybrids and especially the prime are now the ones to get

We just bought a 2018 Rav, like the styling way better. We chose it for this reason and also that it was the last model of it's generation so we figured it would have all the bugs worked out of it. Also we had heard there was some transmission issues with the 2019 which now had an 8 speed tranny instead of 6 in the 2018.

I bought a 2019 rav 4 XLE premium recently after emailing Jeff. Jeff told me I could get 5/6k off of the car and he was right. They offered me 37k out the door and I got it for $30500 out the door.
