Found a 2017 Rav4 Hybrid on Reddit with 500k miles. No engine, transmission or battery work on it. I love Toyota! I have a 2017 gas and I've put 100k miles on it in 1.5 years. All I needed to replace was the battery. Torque converter started groaning, put some shudder fix in it and haven't had a problem since. Look forward to see how far I can take it.

My 2017 RAV4 XLT Hybrid with 75, 000 miles is going strong with just regular scheduled services. Replacing tires, wiper blades, and filters are normal, expected consumable costs. It's been totally reliable.

Thanks to you for your information, I checked mine and I have both the oil and the water leaks. I went in for my 30, 000 mile service I pointed out to them the leaks and they checked and gave me a rental car and will replace the water pump and replace the gasket . All under warranty . I got the car December 17, 2917. 29, 685 miles.

I bought a 2013 Rav4 XLE from a lease and she just turned over 70, 000 miles. The car has been trouble-free, not even requiring brake light bulbs. Brakes however have just started to pulse and I will be replacing pads and rotors soon. I worked my way through college as a foreign auto mechanic, I did something different after college, and think I can get away with doing the work myself. Thanks for all of your YouTube videos they are very informative. Eventually, Red Rad Rav4 will get replaced and I am looking to the Rav4 Prime as a possible replacement. Your hybrid series is great and the information will help me make an informed decision. Thanks again and may our Lord bless you and yours.

Scotty Kilmer helped me decide to buy a 2015 RAV4. We love it. He should watch your video

I switched my XLE tail lights for platinum or limited LED tails, I also eliminated the incandescent turn signal bulbs with LEDs and switchback LEDs. A little wiring work is required along with a special wiring harness for the rear tail lights but well worth it.

Thank you Amd, I have learned so much about Toyotas by watching your channel. Knowledge is one of the greatest gifts you can give anyone and yours continues to be one of the most generous channels on you tube. God bless.

Great video, and great tip on checking for transmission leak. We purchased a 2015 Limited 5/20. Shortly after noticed small ATF drip. Long story short Toyota replaced transmission under powertrain warranty. Was told there is an issue with the transmission housing casting. It may appear that transmission pump seal is bad, but is actually a defect in the housing. Replacing pump seal (very expensive due to labor involved) won’t fix. If not under warranty dealer charges $4200 for transmission and approx. 16 hours labor.

TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A 2014-2017 Rav4 as of 2021. I am noticing a lot of these Rav4's in the rust-belt that they have rust forming in the license plate bolt holes and are spreading to the outer paint & bubbling. And other spots of the tailgate-hatch paint are bubbling as caused by rust.

Thanks for the hybrid driving tip. I’m retired and don’t do much daily driving so I’ll definitely be taking the hybrid off my purchase option. I’ll stick with the gas only when I buy a new RAV4.

Thank you so much for pointing out the areas to check or better still have a prepurchase inspection done at a Toyota Dealer. I was thinking of the 2016 - 2018 models but they are being offered for sale at $28, 999 Canadian and more. I still feel the car market is in chaos for supply, availability and financing. I am so grateful for your information!

my wife is driving 2015 Rav4 limited, we bought it certified pre-owned 3.5 years ago with 27k miles, now it has 58k miles. The only issue we had - leaking water pump, which was replaced under warranty. other than that - no issues at all apart usual wear and tear, brakes, rotors, tires etc. Car is smooth, no issues with shifting. Planning to do 60k service soon.

My 2014 Toyota RAV4 le had the touchscreen quit working properly, but the radio functioned okay. I got a $70 screen replacement off of EBAY found a YouTube video, and took apart the screen my self and repaired it. Took me a few hours but way better than $1200 from a salvage yard or $3500 new from Toyota.

I have a 2014 Rav4 Limited. I love the car, but Toyota really F*** up on the rear power hatch. I have had nothing but problems with it especially in snow and ice. I finally ended up tearing out the power cylinders, threw them in the trash and converted it to a manual lift hatch using gas lift cylinders on A---* zon and the non-power cylinder brackets from a dealer.
BTW there is a switch in the glove box to choose auto or manual lift which may help. I still needed new cylinders and decided to convert to manual only which are much more affordable as well. 👍 As far as the brakes, when it was time to replace the pads, I bought aftermarket drilled/slotted rotors and high-end ceramic pads.. What a difference... It stops on a dime and no shudder or squeaks front or rear...

I have a 2018 Rav4 LE (Assembled in Japan), 67000 miles no issues whatsoever(touch wood). Replaced tires and battery recently. Will replace the brake pads and rotors soon. The original brake pad lasted 67k, and it was mostly used for city driving.
