Welcome back. A lot of people have this issue where the buyer's package is stuck at customs and then they try to open a return case or item not received case against the seller. Who is responsible?

It is the buyer's responsibility to retrieve their packages from customs or to provide ID, information, documentation, to release it from customs. If there are any fees, vat, import, duties, taxes, the buyer is responsible. If the product is restricted from entering the country, the buyer is responsible.

Be careful of scams out there who try to get their money back and then after they will release the package from customs and get it for FREE!

In my experience, ebay closed the case in my favor because I was in the right. The buyer ended up releasing the package from customs few days later anyways and got the package delivered! What a sneaky attempt whether it was a scammer or just an honest mistake.

Hiya! I’m from the USA in California. I was wanting to buy a ring from Japan that is around $110-150 but the seller offer free shipping. Can you help me better understand the import/Customs taxes and where I can find the info for this? Any help is appreciated!

1)✅When the package is confiscated by US customs, can the buyer file a case on eBay?
2)✅ When a package is held by customs, is the owner of the package contacted? Thanks 👍

I think it's a bit simplistic to call this buyer a scammer. I'm struggling as well to get a package cleared that is being held by customs in the Philippines for no obvious reason, since the total value is only 5500 PHP, much lower than the 10000PHP that is allowed free of import taxes . You don't get help from the courier cause they say they only react if the seller is contacting them and Customs isn't telling you also what is the exact problem. They just keep sending the same question list. Now i got tired of waiting and filed an official complaint at the office of the Ombudsman. So what I mean don't just underestimate the efforts the buyer has made to have his package released and the corruption in some Asian countries by government workers. It is the obligation of the courier however to make sure that your package is delivered within a reasonable period, that's why you pay him a substantial amount in the first place. If they can't get the job done they should not be in this business and if the buyer in the end gets the package and a refund then that is because your courier did a lousy job. So blame your courier not your customer. But thanks for the video now i know i better not buy on ebay from sellers like you who just leave the buyer with the shit. Apparently ebay protection doesn't mean that much either, better buy in a physical store. I bought my package on Discogs and got fully refunded by the seller - without any discussion, in fact the seller proposed it herself rather than have me starting a Paypal claim - and if i eventually should be able to get the package released i fully reserved the refund cause i was the only one trying to get the package released and sent almost 100 emails for it. The only thing I agree with you is that the buyer should know what products are forbidden, but then again, your courier should too.

Hi, what about the Chinese products shipped from the third countries - are they still charged 25% duty tax?

India customs ask you a bribe of 21% on the declared value of your shipping, EVEN IF you have PRE-paid all the taxes and duty fees of the destination country, when your eSeller have shipped via EIS (eBay International Shipping) which include all those fees. SHAME !!!

Hi. I'm from the US and I wanna buy a hat that's coming from Russia. I assume I would have to pay import taxes on the item. I'm so confused on that because I never bought anything outside of my country via Ebay.
