DIY Simple Doweling Jig

This Doweling Jig can be built in under 30 minutes. Yet it is self–centering, precise and easy to use. All you'll need: A small piece of plywood, metal pipe/bushing with 3/8 inside diameter and a few simple tools.

I made myself one today, with a simple modification to ensure always using the jig the same way, I painted the surface facing away from me red, so if I see the red I stop!

Great jig. what the distance those two dowels from the edge of the wood to the center of the dowel.

Hi Mate! Leo from Australia here. I just made this jig with the materials I have at home (40mm x 8mm dowels and no metal bushings), and even without bushings, it works well. And I just ordered through eBay some 9.5cm brass bushings. What is the diameter and length of your dowels mate? Thanks a lot for sharing this with all. Much appreciated. Well done indeed!!
