What kind of a low life would shoot a swan. Humans they never cease to disappoint. Except you guys at Wildlifeaid never cease to amaze me with your dedication and loving care of God’s beautiful creatures. Thank you so much for your fantastic knowledge and dedication.

Once when I was a child playing outdoors, I managed to get a hawthorn spine broken off in my ear canal. The sound it made in there was horrible, but when I came home with blood streaming down my neck, I think my parents were more alarmed than I was. My father (an ear, nose, and throat specialist) happened to have forceps at home, and he removed the spine easily, then took me to his office to make sure I didn’t have a punctured eardrum. I imagine the swan could have had a similar experience, though the offending spine or twig didn’t break off inside the injury. I remember being very disoriented and queasy from the sound of that spine in my ear canal, and imagine the swan must have felt the same way. Glad it will have other swans to help in its recovery and eventual release!

I'm a simple person. I saw the thumbnail of Mr. Expendable in water and I clicked.

BB gun, I'd reckon. I have no idea why someone would even begin to think about doing something like that. Thankfully the swan was in good hands!

0:44 So unexpected. I'm no stranger myself to this kind of reaction, but I did not imagine Lawrie expressing his frustration like this! :D
It was overall a though rescue for him, and I hope he had a warm drink waiting for him after he washed himself and changed clothes. :)
