************************************************************************************************

1) Why do you want to work for PepsiCo?

Answer Example:
"I've worked in the CPG space for the past five years, and of all the companies I've considered a long-term career with, I'm most drawn to PepsiCo as a company for the ongoing work you've done to mitigate environmental harm and do good for the planet and its people. For example, the pep+ program is a global leader among CPG competitors, and I hope to contribute to such an innovative, forward-thinking company that truly takes ESG issues into account."

2) What are some of the challenges that the food and beverage industry face today?

Answer Example:
"I believe that the biggest challenge that the food and beverage industry faces today is the fast-changing trends in food and beverage. Everyone is working so hard to come up with the latest and greatest thing that it's challenging to remain a trailblazer in the market."

3) Tell me about a time you failed. How did you handle it?

Answer Example:
"My team lost one of our biggest clients in my current role. While no one specifically was to blame for it, my team and I sat down to discuss where things went wrong with this client and how we could prevent this situation from happening in the future. When faced with failure, I strive to maintain a positive attitude by focusing on what I can learn from the situation to improve for next time."

4) When have you had to think outside of the box to solve a problem?

Answer Example:
"In my current position, we saw a decrease in clients due to a local economic downturn. I recommended to our head office that we begin to generate business outside of our region for the first time in many years. They agreed, and the idea turned things around for us that fiscal year."

5) What challenges do you anticipate in this new role with PepsiCo?

Answer Example:
"Because food and beverage is a new industry for me, I expect that the biggest challenge will be learning the industry lingo, behaviors, and complex needs. I am excited to learn and have already started studying up on industry-related topics."

So I went for the interview and the questions had nothing Sales related, which I was more prepared for. The interviewer simply just ask for my past 5 years work experience, which I'm sure they already have by simply reading my resume and 3 general questions from a prompt (like describe to me a time when you ran into a quality issue and how you solved it, another one how do you handle prioritizing, and lastly a safety question noting sales related) .

So long story short, I didn't get hired. So the next logical question is, what are they ACTUALLY looking for in this type of interview that has no questions relating to sales, leadership or motivation? Are they just trying to feel for the person regardless of job capabilities (as I have sales experience), are they looking for personality over skillset? I applied for more RSA position in near by cities other than mines and I want to be prepared for the next interview.

Thanks in advance, any RSA out there for Frito Lay feel free to answer.
