An estimated 1 million people turned up in Bangkok to view the relics of the Buddha and his disciples that are enshrined in this special mandapam at the Sanam Luang Royal palace ground.

The relics of Lord Buddha and two of his disciples were taken to Thailand in a special Air Force plane from India with the status of 'state guest' on February 22.

India's Minister for External Affairs, S Jaishankar posted on X, "Deeply moved to see a million Thai devotees pay respects to the Buddhist Holy Relics which travelled from India. Our shared heritage and culture is a bridge that creates a special bond."

The relics of Lord Buddha have been taken from the National Museum and are known as Kapilvastu relics. The relics of the two disciples, Sariputra and Maha Maudgalayana, were preserved in Madhya Pradesh's Sanchi.

They are part of a 26-day special exposition in Thailand. Usually such relics are not taken out of the country for any exhibitions. But this was done on a special request by the Thai government

It's the first time ever that the relics of Buddha and his disciples are being displayed together

Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar presented the relics of Lord Buddha to Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin. In a post on X (formerly Twitter, the Governor wrote, "It is my great good fortune that today we have reached Bangkok carrying the sacred bone remains of Lord Buddha and his two great disciples – Arihant Sariputta and Arihant Modgalayana.
Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar handed over the relics of Arahants Sariputra and Maha Maudgalayana to Thai Deputy Prime Minister Somsak Thepsutin and Thai Culture Minister."

The relics are dated 4th-5th century BC and were found in an excavation at Piprahwa, considered a part of the site of ancient Kapilavastu

The relics were excavated in the 1970s by the Archeological Survey of India.

After Bangkok, the relics will be on display in Chiang Mai, Ubon Ratchathani and Krabi, before returning to India on March 19.

I do research on how Buddhism disappeared in Bihar. I realized it never disappeared from Bihar. Buddhists simply failed to research Indian Buddhism. They looked at Buddhism through the sphere of their own cultures searching for only the Buddha. Buddha had a myriad of names in different villages according to his teachings there. Example. His favorite teaching was 'Lust and desire causes pain. Remove lust and desire, and pain is removed'. Translated into Bihari (where the Buddha story took place) it is DHUKH HARAN meaning to remove dukha. Three dozen villages pray to DUKH HARAN Baba. Its clear that DUKH HARAN Baba is none other than the Buddha. Problem is Buddhists are searching only for the Buddha. In the real Vaishali the Buddha begged for alms. The locals there pray to 'BHIKHAINI' Baba (Beggar Baba). Bhikhaini was mispronounced by Buddhists as Bhikshu. Who is BHIKHAINI Baba. The Buddha no doubt. But people are searching for a man called Buddha. In the real Vaishali, in Beluha the Buddha suffered a sickness and felt he had grown old. The locals pray to 'BURHA' Baba (Old Baba). Who is BURHA Baba. The Buddha no doubt. In the real Vaishali the Lichavies pressurized Buddha not to die. They trailed him to Bandagawan pressurizing him not to die. To put pressure in Hindi is DABESHWAR. Three dozen villages around the stupa where Buddha gave the Lichavies his patra, the villagers pray to Baba 'DABESHWAR NATH' meaning the man who won the pressurizing game. It was the the Buddha no doubt as he gave the Lichavies his patra and succeded in sending them back. But Buddhists are searching for the Buddha. Forgive me for commenting out of the topic. I just wanted to impart this information to you. Thanks to Xuan Zang, as I located the villages the Buddha was prayed to as a local deity, Xuan Zang also took me to fifty Buddha relic stupas including Ashoka's first Buddha relic stupa.

Tell me Buddhism doesn't have idol worship, tell me they haven't substituted the divinity of God with something else.😂😂😂

Ask them first what their opinion is of Hinduism. If it’s not nice then perhaps don’t put them on a pedestal either, just saying.
