For anyone confused on Islam’s stance on abortion, Islam is pro life unless there is a risk to the mother or under certain circumstances like rape etc. Please respect our religious beliefs and keep it respectful in the comments.

This is a red herring argument. Even in Islam it mentions that the soul is breathed into the baby at 120 days and before this abortion is acceptable (not liked, but acceptable) and beyond this it’s acceptable if the mothers life is in danger. This argument of a heart beat means nothing because the heart of a fetus will start to convulse or beat way before there are neurons are made, before the fetus even has a brain. In adults, if an adult has an accident and becomes brain dead, they have no brain activity left, but they do have a heartbeat, and it’s acceptable to “pull the plug” even though their heart is strong, because they are brain dead. In this case it’s brain activity over heart beat, so why do we use the heart beat of an underdeveloped fetus as the reason to not abort?

The reason why I see a problem with stances like "it's not okay, unless under special circumstances like rape", is, for that, you'd have to prove that you were indeed raped and we all know how that works out most of the time.

I hear you and respect your beliefs, but these are 2 different conversations. One is by scientists trying to discover whether life exists on planets with conditions different from earth's. The other is by LOTS of people who think it's their business to make a choice about someone else's body. We all agree that 2 adults are living, yes? But I could never legally force you to give even *part* of you (let's say donate your kidney, for example), much less your life, to save someone else. Even if agree that a fetus is a life, the mother should never be forced to use any part of her body to keep it alive.

While i do not encourage people to get abortions, and I will always urge people to choose life when possible, politically, I am 100% pro-choice. Families, women and victims should be able to have control over their own physical health, finances, mental well being etc. So even though I personally in most cases wouldn't have an abortion, its still not the role of the government to make these tough decision for people.

I agree a fetus is a form of life. You can't convince me that the fetus's life is more important than the psychological, physical, financial, and emotional life and well being of the mother. A thinking, breathing person Is more important than one that is just in the beginning stages of forming.

I am pro-choice; if you want to keep the baby, that’s fine, but the government shouldn’t be taking away the choice from women, especially given how things like foster / adoption systems and child benefits systems are so broken that most women can’t afford to have kids.

I'm glad you added a clarification, but your "more important question" was comparing apples and oranges. A heartbeat isn't always an actual heartbeat. I respect your pro life beliefs as long as pro life folks respect my pro choice belief.

Though I'm interested in learning about Islam's teachings on abortion, those teachings should have no bearing on the laws in a free country. I am pro-choice because I believe that every person of every religion (or of no religion) should have the right to make these decisions for themselves based on their own beliefs.

Prominent numbers of scholars says abortion is permissible up to 120 days bases off the hadith of Prophet (SAW) that soul is given after that time.
My advice to you is you have to be willing to put in extra effort to learn if you decide to preach as Islam. You can preach your opinions with as little knowledge you want but if you paint it with Islam, you should understand that you are bearing a big responsibility. May Allah guide us all

I very much agree that you should follow your religious beliefs, but I also believe you should respect other people’s beliefs and let them make their own decisions. Pro life should not end once a child is born…

Whether it’s a life or not isn’t the issue - the mothers bodily autonomy is.

Honestly I may not agree with it at all what so ever but I won't judge someone who chooses to do it because I don't know what they went through at all and it's not may place to judge

It doesn't matter if the fetus is alive or not. The fetus still wouldn't have the right to require someone else to carry it. The woman has the right to autonomy.

nobody is saying the fetus isn’t alive…and the bacteria on mars isn’t using someone else’s body for their own benefit against their will. you have the right to personally be against abortion but that’s just not a good argument

I’ve always been quite concerned about how ‘exceptions of the mother’ would be implemented especially in places where Abortion is illegal. This is especially seen in post Roe America where doctors are hesitant on allowing an abortion even if it threatens a mother’s life due to risk of prosecution.

Most prolifers say that the abortion should happen when the doctor thinks it should be allowed but by putting so many legal and medical restraints on the doctor they might be unwilling to do a procedure that could save a mother’s life especially at risk to their own employment. It’s sad and it’s messed up.

Also this video could be seen as slightly insensitive even though I know you guys didn’t mean it and I love your other videos. Just because it implies that those who are pro choice give no regard for life whatsoever which is blatantly false. Abortion is a sensitive topic after all and can even be traumatising for some.

Fun fact, the heartbeat you hear initially (around 6ish weeks) isn’t a heart physically beating- the heart isn’t even developed yet. It’s a neural impulse that will later guide the heart to beat. And as long as you don’t force your religious beliefs on others, I’m happy to support yours as well 💕

i am VERY PRO CHOICE yet i still agree with your point. i just feel that the life that has to carry nurture and provide for another one should be able to decide when if she wants to

I'm just gonna say as a Muslim, we are pro-choice, and for us the choice is life(and when the choice is between the life of the mother and the child, then the mother's life). So I will not dictate how you choose, but if I had to play any role in this, I would choose life. And Allah knows best.
