When my Keela was a puppy, my daughters said she made the cutest funniest demon brought to earth to destroy it.

Yess indeed, every one of the mentioned attributes, I have experienced with my 1 year old Irish, Pookie. { I believe a Pooka, or, Pookie is a mischievous Irish fairy, hence her name. Sometimes exasperating, sometimes infuriating, but, only momentarily. Adorable, always.Days when she seems to have the
IQ of a carrot. No matter what mischief she gets into, the appealof those gorgeous, pleading, lovable eyes, will always melt your heart. Always. The most beautiful of all dogs. There is no doubt of that.

I use to have a setter, He was a real good boy but everytime it was time to leave the house it was a hunt for one shoe. Always missing often under the dining table sometimes in the upstairs bedroom. And dont even get me started on the food theft. Innocently "sleeping" under the kitchen table, mom leaves the kitchen for a minute and an entire package of frozen crabsticks was gone, my birthday cake, well he grabbed himself a few licks every year.
He was a crafty one to say the least. Cuddle up to Step-dad at the table during dinner and a sneaky sideways tounge was lunging for the plate.
It was definitly a sight to behold and i wouldnt have changed it for anything.
Thanks Step-Dad in believing the the idea for a boy and his dog. It changed me for life and I now wait for stability in life to be able to have dogs in my life again without stressing them from being left alone for too long.

Ours would walk into any gathering with a look that quite openly read, "If you haven't been talking about me, you're about to." And ours tolerated rain when there was business to be done but cringed at the sound of running water; took us a while to figure that out. In sum, prepare to be engaged by a dog whose face will grow longer if you don't.

My Shiba sheds way more than my setter. LOL. She also LOVES the rain.
Everything else, so true.

4-6, 10-12 are certainly true, the rest are a mix - sometimes, but not always. Be careful to plan for lots of off lead exercise if you're thinking of a setter or you'll both be unhappy, but they are certainly gorgeous, affectionate, fun dogs that socialize very well.
