Love your tip. I did my Chapter 1 very quickly and dont want to change it because it will lose its voice
When I write it quickly, it just sounds like me, and I like it that way, even if its not super great.

I agree with #2, however, my chapter starts in 1889 Seattle. My protagonist is out running errands, and I'm using this as a way to show his personality (outgoing, carefree), as well as that of the city.
How could I do that, and still start off with a bang and not a yawn?

Would 4 names besides the MC be to much in the 1st chapter if those names are going to be very important later on in the story?

i’m ending my first chapter with a cute little comment on how the title makes sense “one down, two to go.” cause they m*rder someone.
