great techniques! you're an excellent tyer. apparently that foam is infiltrating the fly tyer underground. yours is the best stimulator I've seen. I've used open cell foam before experimenting with extended bodies but this stuff looks great! thanks for the video!

The foam will certainly help it float better even if the hackle gets damaged. The permanent marker idea is genius why didnt I think of that!

This is a great pattern! I read the comments and bit the bullet to go into a Claire’s looking for the foam...no luck. Any idea where else I could find some?

The foam can be purchased at most Claires stores. Have fun going in looking for it though. Ha. I did.

Very nice. I don't pull the elk hair wraps so tight. The wing and tail spread out too wide for my liking. Just my $0.02.
