Very interesting. I never realized the of the significance of the "Son of David" title he addressed Jesus by. One question: When you say Jesus is the "broker" of the healing bestowed on Bartimaeus from God, are you saying Bartimaeus and the onlookers attributed the healing from the God of Israel and not from Jesus himself? I previously thought, perhaps incorrectly, that Jesus's followers realized he was the Son of God at least in part because he himself was able to perform those healing miracles. Obviously, with the knowledge that Jesus and God the Father are in unity of the trinity the distinction becomes irrelevant but the onlookers probably didn't have this knowledge, at least at the time of this event took place.
