I'm more of a spire man myself but even I have to admit that's one mighty fine dome.

The reason why the Dome of the Rock was probably fairly empty when you went was because you entered as a non-Muslim during a specific time which doesn't tend to coincide with actual Muslim prayer times (according to the sun). When I went to the Dome of the Rock and Masjid-ul Aqsa, it was FILLED with people. You can pray at the Dome of the Rock, and the people gathered to pray went all the way outside the doors.

Well that was my experience when I went in 2017.

Thank you so much for making this video! Because of the restrictions and political implications you talked about in your video, its been very hard for me to find out much information on the Dome of the Rock. I think I learned more from your video than I have from hours of reading. Again, Thank you so much for taking the time to make this! It was so helpful.

The Temples were not located over the rock. Modifications to the Herodian-era floor of the plaza have all but hidden the correct location. It was rediscovered a few years ago when the wells started refilling, causing some tiles to be pulled up. The Sanctum Sanctorum is under one of the gazebo-like structures.

I feel like the Indiana Jones fedora should be mandatory for any and all archealogy videos.

Just discovered this channel + videos, looks like I’m a few years late to the occasion 😆

Nevertheless, this is an amazing video. Even thought it is fairly short, imho its highly informative and straight to the point as well.

Not only that, imho it is also one of the most highly neutral video about Dome of the Rock.

Just wondering if you have plan to cover the adjacent Al-Aqsa Mosque in a detailed manner through a separate video. This is because the mosque also have a special place in Islam, thought it could be an interesting subject to cover. 🤔

Regardless of that, keep up the good work. Looking forward to see new videos soon. 🙏

It has been said that if you go inside the Dome of the Rock and meditate, you can smell what The Rock is cooking.
