Love the manatees they are so gentle . I am from the uk and was lucky enough to stay in Florida for three months holiday we stayed one month in different parts . We drove to silver springs and watched the manatee. It’s something you don’t forget ❤

20 years ago we boated in Crystal River. I’m not comfortable in the water, but this water was so clear I went in. We were hanging off the boat and a mother and baby manatee came right next to us. Their size is intimidating. It was a wonderful experience.

I got the biggest scare of my life when kneeling over a pond in Guyana to look at watercress when suddenly a big head like this one popped up to look at me. It was the first time I even heard of manatees, let alone seen one but I’ll never forget this moment and the gentle creature. ❤️
