For me, seeing Terranigma's ending come together for the first time took my breath away. The way every big theme and little moment in the game built up to that bittersweet gut punch of a payoff was like seeing the developers pull off this amazing magic trick right before my eyes. It affected me way more than I was ready for. It's not just my favorite ending on this console, but of all time.

I can really hear the emotion and nostalgia in your descriptions of these games, as I totally relate. Being 41 now, the SNES is my all time favourite system and your bang on right with the emotion that games like Super Mario World, A Link To the Past, Final Fantasy VI and Super Metroid bring out.
