As many of you have rightly pointed out, Earthbound is NOT in fact available through Nintendo Switch Online. The party responsible for this error (Admiral Beans) has been reprimanded accordingly.

Sorry for the confusion.

I was born in '82 and the SNES is still my favourite system

“Earthbound on NSO”
*Don’t do that. Don’t give me hope.*

Edit: WE DID NOT HOPE IN VAIN!
I got impatient and got both Earthbound and Earthbound Beginnings on the Wii U like a month or two ago tho lmao

Super Metroid is one of my all-time favorites and clearly and easily my #1 game for the SNES. I played it as a kid, and I still play it quite often (Mostly randomizer runs nowadays.)

Yeah I remember playing super Mario world because it actually was packaged with my SNES. I ended up playing that game for months beating it and then going back and getting the missing keys so I can go to the bonus stages etc. it’s truly a master piece

Man, the snes has an insane library of games, the perfect combination of 3rd party and 1st party games, for me no console has close as many masterpieces as the snes

The SNES era was Disney’s golden age of video games. I loved playing The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, DuckTales, Goof Troop, the Magical Quest series, The Carnival Mystery...man, I could go on and on about those games. I loved them when I was a kid. I don’t know if any other than Aladdin and Lion King are available on the Switch, though.

just finished chrono trigger and it's insane. an open world map with different timezones and no "quest markers" you actually have to use your brain and talk to people (or use google sometimes ^^). and the characters are all so well done. most of these type of games i find boring but this one was done in a week and i actually shed a tear towards the end. oh and how can i forget the cutscenes, like wtf :O

Yoshi's Island was indeed a Masterpiece. It was ahead of it's time, the animation, the life, choices this game had was outta this world

14:19 Final Fantasy VI
15:19 Super Metroid
16:35 Chrono Trigger
18:12 TLoZ: A Link to the Past
19:21 Super Mario World

The Super Nintendo has such a deep and broad library (plus all the Japanese exclusive games that are playable in English or have fan translations) that ranking only the top 21 is kind of a fool's errand, it's just one masterpiece after another after another. You could easily make an argument for like 50-60 games to be in the SNES's top 21.

The joy of just holding the unwrapped Super Nintendo game box in your hands while riding back home from the store, the anticipation building as you read every word multiple times, marveling at the game pictures on the back of the box saying to yourself “I can’t believe I’m holding this game in my hands “ the memories that will never be duplicated ever again

Obviously Zombies Ate My Neighbors wasn't going to make this list, or most SNES top 10 (or 20) lists. But it makes mine.

Many a happy memory of playing Super Mario World with my cousin when we were kids. Up there for me as one of the best gaming experiences ever
