The pilot was a friend of mine. She was primarily a bush pilot who'd had extensive experience in the high arctic and even flew from Calgary to Antarctica last year. She was also an accomplished photographer, a poet and a lovely person. This is very sad, and surprising news.

Why haven't we seen any pictures or video of the wreckage yet?

Terrifying flight, she was totally out of control and reached a vertical speed of 4800 feet per minute a second before crashing. This could have been a major tragedy. Runway 19 is not a very safe runway for takeoffs in my opinion.

I have a friend in the area and she was struggling with smoke inhalation after the crash. In the eyes and throat. There is a special place in hell for people who pull stunts like this and make others go through distress.. She had no business operating that plane. That plane is NOT small, it's sizable.
