FLIGHT CHOPS DISCLAIMER:
I am a "weekend warrior" private pilot, I fly for fun with no intentions of going commercial. I have had my PPL for over 15 years, but still consider each flight a learning experience - I generally take detailed notes after each flight to remind myself what went well or what I could do to improve.... Having the GoPro cameras to record flights like this is invaluable. I find these self analysis videos very helpful in my constant quest to improve, and am happy to share. Feedback is invited; however, please keep it positive.

Two of my favorite topics, weather and flying. Great video, I love flying in snow, spent many years flying in Minnesota.

You continue to do great work, Steve, but this VLOG had it all. I appreciate how well you're able to surround yourself with so many knowledgable experts. Kerry-Ann does such a great job explaining weather science, and the fact that she's also a pilot only adds to her capability and credibility. And what can I say about Dennis? He's such a calming influence in that right seat and his sense of humor is absolutely priceless. Oh, and keep those technology aspects coming. I'm a CloudAhoy user thanks to you, and my post-flight debriefs are far richer now as a result -- the mirror never lies. Keep up the great work!

Great video! A must watch for all pilots but especially those of us that live near the snow belts of the Great Lakes. See ya on the sunny side.

Great video Steve. Seems like I'm constantly reminded how large the weather topic can be. I'm always learning new things and videos like this help a lot. Mostly they remind me how much more other people know than me:) Wish I had friends that are meteorologists. Guess I need smarter friends. Now I see, moral of the video, get more intelligent friends! Thanks Steve!

What a great episode Guys! Lots to learn here. I can really identify with suddenly ending up with close to zero viz on what was a "nice" day. I was a student on a solo up near Lake Simcoe when snow came out of nowhere "instantly" and scared the ... out of me. Fortunately it was a narrow streamer and I came out the other side before I had much time to think about what to do. So yeah it happens fast and even when it is not forecast.

Hi Steve, I thoroughly enjoyed this video covering so many weather and flying topics. I love flying 172s, and hearing the engine sound and alternator whine in the headset, got to me a bit, as I haven't flown since 2009... Keep them coming.

It's weird for us in the Southern Hemisphere (NZL) seeing snow at this time of year, as we've just been dealing with a massive bush fire on our local hills this past week with houses lost, and a helicopter pilot tragically killed while firefighting with a monsoon bucket. Cheers, David

As always steve, thank you for your humble approach to flying! I love the videos and I can't wait to start flying this summer. Keep it up and I'm looking forward to seeing the next video!

Great topic as we get a lot of lake effect coming down Lake Michigan into NW Indiana and Western MI. Never got caught in it, but definitely keep an eye out for those conditions.

Meteorology is one of the areas that I found really fascinating, and thoroughly enjoyed studying it for my PPL. Great video! =)
