"Run Free -- The True Story of Caballo Blanco" is a movie about Micah True (Caballo Blanco, or the White Horse), an American ultra-runner who helped the Tarahumara Indians of Northern Mexico preserve their running culture by creating a 50-mile ultra marathon which combines aspects of traditional Tarahumara running with the ideology of modern ultra-running.

Be easy, be light, be smooooth and ya might just float above the crap that tends to suck us in and weigh us down. We have choice that makes us free. - Micah True

.... words of wisdom. I would've loved to have met him. RIP Mr. True.

What an awesome dude this guy was. I just love people like him, thinking outside the box and out there on his own down in Mexico completely going against the norms of society. 'Half-mad'? Yeah. But that's half the fun! Sad to hear he's dead but really our spirit is eternal anyway. We need to celebrate the life of people like this, and be inspired by the fact that you can go against what society and other people 'expect' you to do and be and just go and do wherever your heart takes you. Thankyou Caballo!

Awww No! I didn't know he passed on last year, this makes me so sad. He will be in my prayers. Viva Caballo Blanco!

To me the story of Caballo Blanco is like the story of Rudy Reuttiger.

A man pursues a dream that others view as impossible or crazy, but he believes and chases down that dream. He also shares that dream with others because it never was about ego, fame or wealth, but something about that mysterious thing called love.

How cool; watching the movie tonite with your cousin Andy Noren in Pewabic Hollow - Ripley, State of Superior. I knew of Caballo Blanco and the Tarahumaras before meeting Andy or knowing about your documentary.... rode the train back in 2004 on my way home to Brasil. Can't wait to check it out! Cheers, Kiko

Fue adoptado por los Tarahumaras. Algo vieron en él y nunca lo sabremos, más allá de lo que dice el libro Nacidos para correr, algo vieron los Tarahumaras que no verían en alguien común y corriente como nosotros.

Anybody else wonder what would have become of Chris McCandless if he had survived Alaska and found his way into the Copper Canyon with the Tarahumara?

Why is micah running with fat sports shoes through the canyon. Did they make a hype of barefoot running although micah was never running barefoots, have not even seen him with huarache sandals in the run free dvd...
