you didnt solve for the x-values though. My AP book cares more about the whole point than just the y-coordinate

Seriously....like really??? This is all it takes. I am really glad I am just now figuring this out. I have been doing it the longer way for a few weeks now, appreciate your videos!

That was very easily explained and to the point!! Thank you!!
So I just have to remember -1≤cos(x)≤1 and -1≤sin(x)≤1 where x can be any number, even with a coefficient in this domain, to find the smallest and largest value!!
I also loved how you said 2:17 _"cosine of anything is inbetween positive 1 and negative 1, and again notice there's no restrictions on the domains soo.., you know, we can let x be whatever number we want from negative infinity to positive infinity, and plug it inside of this cosine function so uhh correspondingly, cosine is going to hit every value between negative 1 and positive 1..."_
It sounded Soo cool how you said it with words like "infinity", "plug it", and "is going to hit" !

As soon as you said amplitude I realized how easy this was! Thank you!

I just found your videos and have been going through all of them, great stuff to say the least and thanks for taking the time to put out such detailed, yet easy to understand, videos :D

These videos are so great! I'm now studying calculus on my spare time, while having a full time job, and it's really difficult at times. But your videos helps a lot. Some things I know, because I've learned the techniques by heart. But by watching your videos, I start to understand the math behind it.
Knowing that the (something) in Sin(something) changes the period, and that the number in front changes the amplitude is quite obvious, but I would never have thought of it myself :p

Patcrick, Do you have any idea how to find the exact co-ordinates of the local maimun?

Do you have any of these for more complicated ones? IE 2cosx+cos^2(x)?

So if the function is in the form of y=a sin (bx-c)+d, how do you change it for the +d

So is it always going to be the amplitude and then the negative amplitude? I'm taking Geometry so I'm hoping it doesn't get any hardee than that in this part.

So, are the maximum and minimum values always going to be the amplitude?

i fucking hate the "that tutor guy ad".

yes. When you multiply any number by +1 or -1, it will be that number, positive or negative respectively.

what are the max and min values of the function  f(θ)= 11.5cos(2θ+ pie[3.14 if you prefer]) - 13? Please help

Could U peg a real life situation on y= 6sin(7x}?
All this is just letters, WHERE do we encounter such a function? Cheers.

What about when it's f(x)=x. Sin(1/x)?
