One thing that was not covered in this video is the differing distances it takes to either score a six or home run. A cricket player who had played cricket professionally at a minor level came to live in New York City for a while and became a baseball fan (who still loved cricket). He then wrote a book about the two games (although he never played a single minute of professional baseball at any level as sometimes asserted by cricket fans). He noted in his book that even in the Oval, the biggest cricket venue, it was no more than 250 feet to score a six, while the shortest distance to hit a home run is 314-318 feet down the foul lines (I think this is in Yankee Stadium) and of course it goes up from there. I used to watch a lot of cricket videos, but there was so much BS spewed about how easier it was to play baseball than cricket, the comments were a prime example of the kind of stupid comparisons that this video wanted to avoid. The games are just different from each other. The author of the book I read (sorry, I can't remember his name, said he played cricket because he had grown up in England, and if he had grown up in the US he would have played baseball. One game is not better than the other, they are just different.

8:44: In baseball, all of the batters come up in a certain order and that order remains consistent throughout the game. You don't stay at bat until you get out; if you reach base, the next batter comes up. An inning ends with three outs (instead of 10 in cricket), but there are nine of them for each team instead of only one or two. So if the first batter gets on base and the next three get out, the fifth batter in the lineup will start the second inning for that team. It is possible, but rare, for a batter to come up twice in an inning, if the team manages to go through all nine players' turns at bat without getting three outs. In fact, the same batter can get out twice in a single inning that way (or even all three outs, though that's never happened in a Major League game).

The "which is better" argument is silly, but, for the record, Ninh is factually wrong when he says there are only three ways to be "out" in baseball. Off the top of my head, I can count at least 15 (such as various types of interference, batting out of order, passing a leading runner, leaving the basepath to avoid a tag, and so on).

Being good at either of these sports is like being a wizard.

I agree it doesn’t make sense to compare them. It’s like comparing rugby and American football, they are different sports.
Also I don’t think there are cricket players that would call a baseball player useless for using a glove and I don’t think any baseball player would say a cricket pitcher doesn’t have any skills.

As someone who played both as a kid and watches quite a bit of baseball. It’s quite clear batting in baseball is harder.
But I do think fielding in cricket is harder because of the gloves.
And of course it’s easier to score in cricket . Just look at the scores.

Cricket ball is heavier in comparison to baseball ball and bowlers can bowl quicker than 100 mile per hour in cricket but the under arm movement is banned in cricket or we can say bending of arm otherwise then bowl even faster whereas it is definitely hard to hit ball in baseball than cricket because of the bat shape in baseball

Yeah, so how rounders is in England is how English football/soccer is in the USA. Little kids play it and then, moving into the teen years, it's played mostly by girls/women -- thus the American women typically win the World Cup and the guys usually make the tournament, sometimes even to the knockout round, but certainly don't equal the women at this point.

Not mentioned was the tactics of the game. Anyone who likes stats will like baseball. Not sure if cricket uses signals from the manager? I do like what they said, it’s useless to compare the two sports.
Btw you going to the Cards Cubs game in June?

Cricket is by far more popular, baseball is big here its number one sport in japan and its big in south korea and it pretty popular in some latin american countries.Remember cricket is very popular because at one time england ruled the word and with it came it s language and culture and sports.

I think you like what you grew up with, here cricket is practically unknown. As far as technical skills baseball is far harder its not just hitting but throwing base running. Culturally baseball is far more popular just think of the little phrases that come from baseball not to mention all the people around the work that wear NY or LA baseball caps.

American baseball fans and British cricket fans can both say that their respective sport is more popular in Asian countries.

But Americans and British think of different people and different countries when they say "Asian". LOL

only one thing I'm not agree with this guy, he said baseball have more country with less population. You can't count popularity this way.
I'm from bangladesh, here is a baseball national team. if you ask 95% of the people they don't know what it is. baseball is minor sports in most of the country and majorly popular in usa, cuba, DRP, japan and south korea.
cricket majorly popular in europe(England, Scotland, nederland, Ireland) asia ( india, pakistan, bangladesh, srilanka, afganistan, nepal, butan, maldeves, oman, uae) africa ( south africa, Zimbabwe, keniya, namibia, rewanda), carribean country and also( Australia, newzeland, png) etc. All the other country cricket is minor sports like baseball in Europe.
