I prefer cricket but that's because I grew up in Australia, if I grew up in the US I imagine I'd prefer baseball. All sports have their appeal, it's pointless to argue that one is better than another as it's entirely in the eye of the beholder.

Cricket draws a lot of its spirit from war since it's a European originated sport. The weather plays a part, the pitch plays a part. The bowlers and captains think of protecting runs in certain sections of the ground in a tense situation. The batsman have to rotate strike after an over. So even if you suck at batting, you will still need to go out and do it for your country. The batting has an order with your young batsmen at the top followed by the tough old guard in the middle and so on. The bowlers have variations and tactics to plug and let go of runs depending on game situation which swings wildly. At the end of the game, every team win or lose, walks onto the field and shakes the hands of every member of the opposition which signifies the cessation of hostilities. In essence, cricket IMHO is the closest thing to war.

A slow pitch in baseball is called a change up...  There is a huge psychological battle going on between the pitcher and the batter during every at bat.  The pitcher isn't just randomly lobbing the ball over the plate.  He is very carefully choosing his pitches and locations of those pitches based on a number of things.  Such as which pitches the batter struggles with.

I watch both. But the intricacies that come into cricket, especially a good game of test can't come even close.

Baseball is a rather straightforward game.

Having said that, I think baseball is more physically straining on an average (if you exclude those consistent 145+ kmph cricket bowlers who have to get half a dozen surgeries to continue playing)

cricket is the mother of baseball, any intellegent person who has seen both sports would know that...i know cricket can be long and boring sometimes but when you look at the bigger picture in terms of how close the matches can get cricket wins it for sure

Two games are Not comparable. I think in 🏏 both batters and bowlers Can enjoy the opportunity of attacking and defending at the same time. It's a lot more complex as you can imagine the game can last for 5 days. In baseball, it's more about pitcher. If the pitcher is very good the batter can hardly do much. Plus a very good cricketer has to be good at batting or bowling and ready to be fielding at any position. In baseball ⚾ I think your position and skill are fix. A pitcher always pitch. Fast bowler, bowls over after over can be exhausting then he has to field all day long requires a lot of fitness. In the same way batters need to concentrate for whole day can be exhausting. In baseball, your hand eye coordination has to be very good to hit the ball.

Cricket is interesting and respectable for sure but to suggest it has more intricacies than baseball is flat out madness. There are 80 year old guys with score cards in a baseball stadium who are still learning things. It's ridiculously complex to the point it is genius.There are potentially dozens of significant decisions being made with every pitch.

Baseball doesn’t have different kind of pitchers or pitches? The pitcher is literally throwing different pitches most of the time and the hitters don’t know what’s coming ( unless your cheating). How is that not psychological? Cleese likes his cricket and that’s cool, but if he grew up with baseball, he’d love and romanticize that instead

one thing where baseball does better than cricket is baseball has got more money not because the game is great but America is the richest country . if they Americans had developed a love for Field Hockey the players of the game would have been earning tons of money.

But baseball cannot be compared with cricket at all . people can say baseball was better than cricket when there was only one version of the game available . but now there are three different formats at offer . baseball don't have such variety . it is very monotonous .
