THIS WEEK: my fourth week on 7.5mg PLUS usual updates on weight loss and side effects PLUS it’s the month for candy, and other musings.

I have no underlying conditions. I am not Type 2 Diabetic. Nor am I pre-diabetic. My A1C is perfect. I have no previous experience of taking weight-loss medication. I am sharing my journey with an update on side effects, weight loss, appetite. Mounjaro is manufactured by Eli Lilly. It is FDA approved for T2D, but not yet solely for weightloss in non diabetics. It is a weekly injection which is GLP-1 and GIP medication. It is prescription only and, if eligible, can be obtained for $25 a month with manufacturer’s coupon.

I am not a medical practitioner so I cannot advise, I can only share my experience of this new medication.

If you have any questions, please add them in the comments and I’ll respond.

The city I work in has a wonderful recreation center with an indoor pool and track in addition to all the gym equipment. I alternate days walking or swimming laps. I would swim every day but I’m trying to use different muscle groups.

Just found your journey today. I’m on week 3 at 2.5. Experiencing good results and no negative side effects. Thank you so much for your videos so I know what you expect. I’m in east Texas so nice to see a fellow Texan on the same journey. I’m not diabetic either and grateful for the opportunity to use this medication. You are inspiring me!

Hi Mimi, you are not alone in any of your struggles, the candy nor the knowing you need to incorporate more movement and not doing anything about it. I like your compromise with the tiredness dilemma. We've had candy in the house and I'm not as binge-y about it. We haven't bought any since we don't give out, we take my daughter out so I actually get some exercise on Halloween 😄 but when I was a teenager I had a Halloween incident with a bag of Butterfingers and depression where I really set myself on a spiral. I'll never forget that; I haven't touched a Butterfinger since; too many bad memories. My journey is 12 full weeks 18 lbs down. Going to take my last 5mg 2nd round today then next week I'll attempt 7.5mg and hope I have a better go of it. Then i see my prescribing Dr on Halloween, he should be happy with my progress! You're doing great, great attitude! Also 8yo me identifies with your pool dreams, I had one from 10yo-18yo I think, they were a lot of work 😄 I still would like to have one but we are content with the portable ones every couple years now.

Oh no, you are definitely not alone on the Halloween candy. I decided a couple years ago to only buy candy I don’t like 😂 Most kids like all of the sour stuff so that’s what I get.

Hey Mimi, what part of Texas? We lived in Dallas a few years in the early 90’s. Candy… ah yes… we’ve been buying sugar free to have in the house for us and stay away from the real stuff ☠️. I certainly hope you have continued success with your script. I was pleasantly surprised yesterday! Be well!

Mimi you are my girl!!! Yes I do the same thing with that darn Halloween candy. Buy a bag eat it and have to get more candy for the trick or treaters🤣🤣🤣. Saw my doctor today, he is keeping me on the 7.5mg for another 4wks. I'm okay with that. Keep doing what you're doing ❤️
