Do NOT Buy an Ultrawide Gaming Monitor - Here’s Why
Unfortunately 16x9 is the standard, and while 21x9 support has definitely gotten better, I can tell you after testing many different ultrawide monitors and using the 57” Neo G9 extensively that 21:9 and 32:9 ultrawide support is still not great.

Now the 57” Neo G9 is a 32:9 7680x2160 monitor, but I mostly ran it at 5120x2160 non stretched which is a true 21:9 4K ultrawide resolution, and while the picture did look amazing since it was just 4K plus more on the sides, the majority of games felt like looking through a fish bowl after falling on my head.

For me, it's about productivity. I'm going to get a 32:9 monitor for work first and gaming second. I'm fine with having the game window in 21:9 and have discord open side-by-side. It's about what you make out of it...

I’ve been playing 21:9 aspect ratio for like 6 or 7 years now and can’t think of a game that had a problem with it. Maybe I just never noticed stretching, but it all looked good to me

Couldn't disagree more, haven't found a game without ultrawide support that isn't fixable with mods in years. Some mod makers take literally minutes for mods. 32:9 is a whole different thing, it has barely support.

The 2% of games that don't support ultrawide and 5% that don't support ultrawide cutscenes are nearly always fixable.

I don't want ultra wide to be the standard, but I still want better support for it. Same with bigger vertical resolutions. just give us some better scaling options for different dimensions.

When FINALLY are we gonna see 21:9 5120 x 2160 ultrawide gaming monitors? Is there any news about it?

Ultrawide master race. You are missing out on the most immersive gaming experience without one hands down.

I tested battlebit, and if you keep the FOV the same, you will see more in ultra wide than standard widescreen. Esentially, the 16:9 centre portion of the screen will look exactly the same, but on the ultra wide, you can see wider.

I think this thing is subjective. I have both "regular" 27 inch monitors and 34 inch ultrawide monitor and it's a joy to me to play lots of games on the ultrawide too. It depends on the games too but some of them look awesome on ultrawides

Have been using 21:9 screens for the last seven years without any problems.

As a 32" 4k gamer who previously had 49" 32:9 1440p. I'm patiently waiting for the new 57" g9 too come down in price. FINALLY! a 4k SUW with that sweet sweet vertical height not just in resolution but physically too.

I don't mind if some games don't support it, as long as they automatically compensate with two black bars on the sides, luckily for me most of the games I've wanted to play have supported it or with the use of flawless widescreen (I recommended donating to them) so they continually support games.

But every game I've bought since getting my new gaming pc in june has supported it except for one Yakuza game (which just had) cool background wallpaper at 5120x1440.

I'm running the 49" OLED G9 and very happy with my purchase (as long as your desk can support it) any time I go back to a standard sized monitor now I feel I'm missing something, especially when you think of day to day use as well, being able to have two full sized browser windows open or way more screen real estate it video editing or your daw.

Now having said all of the above I'd much rather have a 4K 240HZ 16:9 monitor at say 32-42" if and when available.

32 4k oled sounds great but i just think 21:9 is better. wish there was a 38 inch 5k2k oled 240hz that would be the endgame imo

My biggest reason for abandoning my ultrawide soon is the difficulty with streaming. There simply is no elegant answer, either you put out a stream with black bars for normal viewers, or shrink your own screen within your ultrawide. It's a real bummer.

Jonathan never bullied Wammu, and my 21:9 has never let me down except when trying to play Ass Creed 4, and that's a Ubisoft problem because they broke EVERYBODY'S resolution

Built my first pc, with a 32:9 monitor. After about a year, I can say it's nice having the bigger screen. A lot of games look better if you minimize the screen to the basic parameters of smaller monitors, but some games look crazy in 4k super wide mode. I'm probably gonna put a 37" on top of this one, so I can see discord, and Spotify while gaming. Totally recommend getting it before you move out of your parents, cause those bills won't give you much "free-to-use money."

Watching this on a 34inch ultrawide and having a good time. Games like Hollow Knight with the ultrawide mod is such a cool experience, can never go back.

Fuck ultrawide, ultratall is the way. Turn a G9 vertical and be ready for no peripheral but 16k accuracy potential.

Its easy, if it don`t support 32:9 i dont play the game. Simple as that. I can NEVER go back to 16:9
