The developers said that this game is neither a BOSS RUSH nor a SoulsLike game. They said that if they must say anything, it is more like a game like God of War, which will take into account both combat and storyline. The story is the foundation of this game.

I’m glad the game is so unapologetically Chinese. A lot of Chinese devs are heavily Japanese inspired(hoyoverse) and it’s nice to see a studio that wears its cultures proudly.

That mask creature is originally in Chinese myth，and brought to japan in ancient time，then changed into another form. Many monsters you see nowadays in japanese game can be found in ancient chinese story，like nine-tailed fox.

In 5:27, its not Wu Kong using his staff to shoot rapid fireballs but he has actually transformed into a mouse-crossbowman shown in 1:52
You can see the tail is a mouse tail, not a monkey one.

Great take except one mistake. Tang Sanzang isn't shown in the trailer. The gourd painter guy is likely a Taoist person since he has pretty good hair style. Monks like Sanzang are bald
